Choosing Seats on Expedia - Quick Question
Okay, I've called Expedia to clarify the seat choosing policy and I think I have it right. But I wanted to check here. I had trouble understanding the person and asked him three times and felt that was as far as I was gonna get. So before I call them again, can anyone help me out?
Expedia tells me that seats can't be chosen but when the tickets are purchased the passengers are put on a priority list. Then, they either arrive at the airport early or do online check in 24 hour prior to flight time and choose seats then.
This involves Air France one way and KLM the other. I guess they are now merged but I cannot get this cheap fare by going to either of their websites. This is my first time with Expedia and I'm a bit nervous as we usually book with airlines and get our seats immediately.
Thanks for your advice.

Ohh, sorry to get your hopes up pdx, I should qualify that. No, not cheap, but the cheapest offered on that day in the last few weeks.
I paid $1095 all included: Houston-Paris-Athens; return Athens-Amsterdam-Houston. Good connection times and I was able to choose seats.
I dug up old credit card records and realized that last year for a RT flight to Paris at the same time I paid $947, so I felt better. Now, that flight was booked about 4 weeks prior to departure so that could account for the higher price. But at any rate it makes me feel a bit better.
