I spent three days in Pienza and was able to visit: Montepulciano, Montalcino, Sant Antimo, Bagno Vignono ??, and all the surrounding countryside. It was a great little town with some wonderful restaurants.
There was a nice cypress lined walk from town to the countryside, a nice walk after or before dinner. The views were wonderful as Pienza is perched on a hill.
Very convenient to everything you read about on the internet that you should see in Tuscany.

Wow - no contest at all
Pienza
Lots of old folks wandering around in the main section (not the "old" section) of Chianciano makeing use of the baths. Lots of ugly (IMO) modern buildings too.
Pienza is a three star gem. Beautiful countryside immediatly around it.
