Chelsea Kitchen??????

The Chelsea Kitchen was a wonderful little place that we had gone to for years for great affordable meals when on a trip. My Mom is in London right now and called to tell me that when she went to have lunch there today, that it was closed....gone all together. She inquired at a few shops nearby to see if they were just closed for renovating, but, was told that they closed back in December or January and that they were definitely not reopening. Does anyone know why?? Just curious!!

Oh no!!! I have no idea why they closed but I am very sorry to hear it. I often stayed on Sloane Gardens when in London and ate there all the time. It was a wonderful neighborhood restaurant -- good food, fair prices.

I know...it's very sad news and I still have not been able to find out why. But, I have been told about another place to try called The Stockpot and will definitely look into it when I go back!

I think it closed down around the end of 2006 when their premises' lease expired - and the renewal terms were just too high.

You know, I had thought of something like that. It's just too bad that they closed. I wonder if they (the owners of the restaurant) are looking at another location?? It seems to have been a popular place! Hmmmmm?????

Would be impossible to find another commercial premises for the sort of lease terms they were enjoying. Certainly in that part of London.
