Checking on airline reservations

There have been posts about checking on flight info between booking and flying. I bought my tickets through Orbitz in September for flights to Spain and Israel (on Iberia and El Al)in November. I want to keep an eye on the seats I chose. They sent me old fashioned paper tickets. Is there a way to check with Iberia to make sure everything is ok with them? I don't have an Iberian reservation number that they ask for on the website.

Hi G,

When Orbitz sent you a confirmation, didn't it have a reservation number?

Contact info for Iberian is at http://tinyurl.com/y5bt6s

Thanks ira,

There is ticket number, but it is waaaaay too long for Iberia. I tried using the last six digits (Iberia is set up for six digits) but that didn't work.

Anyone know more about Orbitz tickets?

How about calling Iberia at 800-772-4642.

Iberia is very reluctant to assign seats and may well change them anyway.

On Orbitz you should look for the Iberia "locator" code - six letters - that will appear on the "details" page on Orbitz. This "PNR" may be on the ticket somewhere too. It is NOT Orbitz' file number, but one that they got from Iberia.

Thanks everyone for your help. While I was looking for the six letter code Gardyloo mentioned, I noticed that it was attached to "American Airlines" in the "Flight Reservation" section on My Trip on Orbitz.

When I was booking this, Iberia seemed to be the lead airline, but now it looks like it is American. My first flight is STL to ORD on AA. All other flights are Iberia, including my return ORD to STL which is Iberia - operated by AA.

I found my reservation on the AA website.

Thanks for your help.
