I bought tickets on Spanair about 6 weeks ago for 35 euro from Malaga to Barcelona. It was a special they were running, so don't know if it is still available or if it would be available for the times you are traveling. Iberia also had similar fare specials and they had a non-stop flight from Granada to Barcelona for under 30 euro. I understand they run these specials frequently, so I would check everyday before you leave.

Tweak,

There are 2 direct trains a day on the route, 1 daytime (12 hrs 20 mins. for EUR 47.50)and one at night (12 hrs 40 mins. for EUR 49 plus the price of a bed, which varies by type - I think you must purchase a bed, no seats available). Details at
www.renfe.es
Tickets on the daytime train can be booked online, while for the night train you will have to wait until you get to Europe or book through RailEurope and pay their high fees.

Bus service is available, but is mostly at night and slower and more expensive than the day train, though cheaper than the night train. The faster & more comfortable "Eurobus" service might be a good option. Info & booking at:
www.alsa.es

You might consider an overnight in Valencia to break up the journey.

If you prefer to fly (so much faster than the other 2 options), besides Spanair and Iberia, I believe Air Europa also flies the Malaga to Barcelona route - unfortunately their web site is down for maintenance right now.

Hope this helps,
Andre
