Cheap Rome Hotel please!
We are three middle aged fun loving women in search of cheap clean central hotel/B&B in safe area, pref. family run & near Via Del Tritone/Piazza Barbarini/Via del Corso/Via Nazionale for four days in September. Looking for triple room with private bath in nice area with cafes nearby. Has anyone any suggestions. Pref. not more 150euro per night. Many thanks.
PS. AMALFI HOTELS - we're heading to Amalfi after Rome and looking at Hotel Fontana or Hotel Sole - if anyone knows anything about either we'd love to hear about them. Also Residence La Rosa in Forio d'Ischia

I am currently looking at the Albergo Abruzzi which is in the square overlooking the Pantheon.
You can see pictures on www.eurocheapo.com....You have to click on Rome and it will show you some other options too.
Goodluck!

I stayed at Hotel Julia. I would stay there again...in fact, plan to this september/october. It is in a good location, 5 minute walk to Trevi, 10 min walk to Spanish steps, a 24-hour internet around the corner, movie theater...all located in the Piazza Barbarini. They have their own website. They also have apartments for rent...very reasonable.

We stayed at the Hotel Clarin when we were in Rome a couple of years ago. The rates were very good (I think around A$100 for 2 of us per night).
Whilst the hotel isn't really "glam" it is very well located and clean and tidy with modern bathrooms. The staff are very nice and polite gentlemen. Breakfast was included in our rate.
Hotel Clarin is in Via Palermo which runs parallel with Via Nazionale and is close to the Station and we walked to all the sites from there (great shopping on Via Nazionale by the way).
Loved some of the little restaurants around there as well.

PS: Ask for one of the rooms on the outside of the building rather than facing the courtyard which seem to be smaller with much smaller bathrooms.

Here's a link to the Pensione Panda on Via del Croce right off the Spanish Steps. A trip w/ bath in September is 130 euro. My husband and I (in our 40s) stayed there and thought it was a great value. Nice, clean, marble everywhere, and it's in a great location. Lots of restaurants/shops nearby.
