Chartres: current state of renos

Anyone been there very recently, say in the past few weeks? Just curious as to the state of affairs around the renos there. Besides the obviously unholy sounds, were the visuals at all compromised? Planning to (maybe) see it for first time this late October and would like to hear from recent visitors. Just contacted the church management itself, but they weren't very specific.
I am done. The end.

The last time we were there (2008), the front was full of scaffolding but the north side had been redone. It should not affect the windows as seen from the inside unless the scaffolding is inside.

Here are two versions of carvings from the front of the cathedral

Sorry, not trying to be rude, but I don't see how Michael's information can be much help, since it's from 15 years ago and therefore doesn't help with the current situation...

Michael, that's quite a difference.

Zebec, I hope you'll be able to spend the evening because the illuminations at Chartres are fantastic. They start after dark and there are over 20 sites around the area.

Folks, I also received some input from local folks over on an alternative travel website. It seems that the current renos (renovations, BB) involve only the church organ and authorities are pointing to a conclusion by the end of this month. Susan, here I was thanking Michael for his response. Coq, merci aussi. We knew about the illuminations. But Mrs Z tends to be exhausted by the end of trips and seldom agrees to longer hours while on daytrips.
Fingers crossed.
Merci tous.

I am done. the voyage
