<< Seems like from Prague to Frankfurt - flight will be a better option? but not sure about the price. >>

Flying will be much faster but more expensive. You can get bus/train tickets for E39 each if you book 3 months ahead.

<< another alternative is perhaps we could stop at Dresden as suggested by BibloBurgler to break the journey before we Frankfurt? >>

This route does not go through Dresden. You will not save any time by routing through Dresden. Please check a map to see where Prague, Dresden, Nuremburg, and Frankfurt are located.

Please use the train site we gave you and all will be revealed when traveling in, to, from Germany.

Hi!
If you want to check bus connections you can try this:
http://www.eurolines.pl/en/home-page
Probably it will be cheaper and even faster than a train (in the case of Poland).

Here you can check trains from Poland:

Skipping Warsaw is not a bad idea but I think there is one place you can visit to understand why this city in many opinions lacks atmosphere: www.1944.pl/en/
I think it's really worth seeing, it shows an important part of Polish history in a very interesting way.
Maybe the next time - I see you have already changed your itinerary

I think people know about Warsaw and how it was bombed during the war.

I do agree about the Warsaw Uprising Museum. One of the best, along with Krakow Under the Occupation Museum. I was totally impressed with the new Polish museums and their hi-tech effects and very, very interesting way of portraying history. Touch screens are all in Polish and English, as are the signs.

Buses are very inexpensive; I did reference the Orangeways bus to Budapest in my first post.
