My wife and are driving around England and Scotland for two weeks and would like to spend the night in at least one castle. Any suggestions and rough idea of cost? Thanks!

another link:<BR>http://www.celticcastles.com/html/map.html<BR>We just came back from Scotland and stayed in the Kildrummy Castle (it was the favorite stay for all my family of 4), we enjoyed beautiful Kildrummy Castle gardens. Also, we spent two nights in the Glengarry Castle Hotel - I would not consider it as a real castle, but location is excellent, pleasant loch view, food was delicious, beautiful art works everywhere and burning fireplace at night, price reasonable.

I have to second the opinion on the Kildrummy Castle. Gorgeous place...just wonderful! Our family of 4 stayed there in the dead of winter and loved it. Of course at that time of year there were no gardens to see, but everything was covered in snow and just as wonderful.
