Carcassonne
I've been reading the Carcassonne discussion with great interest as we are booked there for 2 nights. We will be there on Sat./Sun. nights June 11 & 12. Will the crowds be overwhelming then?? I still want to see it & stay at the hotel Donjon but maybe we should spend Sunday out of the city? I was thinking of Pezenas. what about Narbonne? It is interesting? Will it be really hot?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Coco - so nice to hear from you. I was just looking at your website again & wishing I had time for Dijon. Hopefully next year. I loved all your photos. Did you put up the links yet? I couldn't find them. Have you had any actual paying guests yet??

I'm still searching for new links but I'm often out those days, looking for new pictures to take(have you seen them on the link "more pictures here"?
actually Sue and Ken from Australia (near Adelaïde) are coming on Sunday. I'm waiting for them to call me and give me the time they arrive by train.
The flat is clean, I just need to go shopping to fill the fridge.(and make cakes as well)
I'm happy because today I went to the place I used to work for, there is a beauty salon and I bought a few beauty products samples to put in the bathroom (Thalgo if you know it)
Now I think everybody can pop in with just their clothes on. they'll find toothbrush and toothpaste, rasors and shaving cream, soaps and shampoo and now cream (moisturizing marine collagene cream, replenishing serum, sunscreen-cream...)
if you have any other suggestions about what I could add, tell me!

We were in Carcassone last June at the same time you're planning to visit. It was not overwhealmingly crowded, but we got there first thing and left after lunch. We were staying in a Gite about 1 hr from there, so we did not stay overnight.
Recently, we've spent over 8 weeks vacationing in various places in the Languedoc/Roussillon area. I agree with cocofromdijon that spending a night in Pezenas would be a good idea. Carcassone is about a 2-3 hr visit, and I don't think there would be enough there to keep you entertained for 2 nights/1 day. Also, the crowds might get to you after a while, and some of the shops are a little too touristy.
If you head towards Pezenas, stop in St Guilhem le Desert & Clamouse cave for a visit.

Hello cocofromdijon, your flat sounds heavenly! You are so thoughtful regarding your guests comfort.
A suggestion, what about buying a small container of laundry soap. Some kind that is suitable for washing out lingerie etc.
I believe this venture of yours will truly be very successful. You have put so much thought and work into it.
Best wishes to you.

thank you again LoveItaly! I just try to guess what people would like to find when they arrive in a place they don't know to feel at ease.
as for the laundry soap, do you mean that a washing machine with drying feature is not enough? you don't even have to spread your clothes to have them dried. Oh maybe you mean for delicate underwear I get it now(my english is not that good!) there is a small packet of "lavage à la main" powder as well as tablets of "normal" washing powder.
