car transportation recommendation for MXP- Camogli
We are a family of 6 traveling in June to Italy! In trying to keep things simple and as direct a possible, I am looking for recommendations for a car hire service to take us from MXP to Camogli. I have a few quotes, but want to make sure the driver is there when we arrive! Grazie!

Call your hotel in Camogli and ask them to help you. They will know all the angles.
If you decide to rent a car, make sure wherever you are staying in Camogli can GUARANTEE you a parking space. It might cost you 25e per day, but without that, you might need to go as far as the next town to find parking in June.

Thanks for the replies! Unfortunately we are renting an apartment. Definitely do not want a car. I think the person we rented from uses an agent that is not a local. Any other suggestions? Has anyone used a car service in this area?

Get your landlord to work this out for you. There are local taxi drivers, but they speak Italian. (If you speak Italian, then they can give you numbers to call.) Be sure to tell your landlord how much luggage you are bringing so they can connect you with someone who has an appropriate sized vehicle.
An alternate choice would be to take a taxi from Malpensa to the central train station in Milan and then take a train. If the only train you can get requires you to change in Genova, get off in Genova and take another taxi to Camogli. Don't know what the train fare would be for your family (there are discounts) but the two taxi rides will cost you about 175 euros total.

Is your question only about "reliability" of the drivers who have given you quotes?
You might find reviews of drivers on the internet, but even if you find nothing but good reviews of some company it is best to carry a cell phone that works in Italy if you want to be sure of finding your driver at the airport. Good drivers communicate with you ahead of time about specifically where to meet at the airport (and I suggest exchanging photos by e-mail in advance), and they watch the internet to see if your flight is delayed or on time. But having a cell phone you can use to call them if don't readily find them when you land is a big plus.
