When you say car do you mean a sedan? I can't imagine any would be big enough. A mini-van might do if you don;t have too much luggage - but we've never found a car that could hold even 4 people plus luggage really comfortably.

Why don't you rent a People Carrier - Galaxy, Alhambra or Sharan. They are widely available, and you can remove one of the third row of seats for extra luggage space. Or hire a roof box. We have driven all over Ireland and Europe with 2 adults, 5 children in a Galaxy with a roof-box, and have had no bother. And you can imagine the luggage!

We rented a Mercedes Vito thru Autoeurope while in Germany in Sept. We had 6 adults with 1 large and 1 carry-on bag per couple. There was plenty of room. Three rows of seats and area for bags behind the last row. We drove on several mountain roads in Switzerland and felt comfortable on these narrow roads.
