Car Rental - Is this possible?

For all those who have rented or researched economy or compact automatic cars in Ireland I have a question.

Do I have to be a resident of Ireland to book on let's say www.budget.ie? I only ask because I was using the Car Rental Council of Ireland website and clicked on the companies they recommended and I tried Budget and I was quoted something that seemed a bit low compared to my previous searches on expedia, orbitz, and the US versions of the websites.

Any help would be appreciated. I feel a bit overwhelmed with this task and I leave in two weeks. Thanks again for your help in advance.

When comparing rates be sure they are apples to apples. Often US sites quote including insurance/taxes and sometimes the Irish sites quote w/o them
But you should be able to book through that site.

Thanks for your help janisj.

I even checked to make sure it was being quoted as dollars instead of Euros but based on terms and conditions it seems that it is included but I definitly will read the fine print before I make a reservation.

Thanks again.

Before you book directly with a rental company, check www.autoeurope.com, a consolidator that finds you the best rate from among the companies with which it has contracts. If you find a better price yourself, AE promises to either match or beat it. Call their toll-free number and ask about any special deals that don't appear on the Web site.
