Car Rental in Southern Spain
We want to rent a car in malaga and return it in sevilla. please help us figure out the best rental company and strategy!
It seems like it is less expensive to rent from the train station in malaga instead of the airport - does this sound like a good idea? is it close to get to from the airport?
In sevilla, is it best to return it downtown, at the train station, or at the airport? we are returning the car because we will be spending time in sevilla and we won't need it - not because we are flying at that time so the airport sounds like a bad idea.
There appear to be many surcharges not included in the price such as insurance, pick-up fees, mileage and gas fees, additional drivers, etc. please give us any advice you have about renting something "inclusive" or not
thanks!

Didn't rent a car in Malaga, but did rent a car in Seville and picked it up from the train station. It was pretty easy picking up the car and once out of the train station, we were able to get on the road without much trouble. You are right about not needing a car in Seville. I would not have wanted to navigate around the streets of Seville. We walked a lot and took taxis which were inexpensive.

I would check out viajar.com I used the website quite a bit when I lived in Spain. However, as I'm writing this I seem to remember the website only being in spanish?? I hope that either you can read spanish or that they've changed that.

we rented one way from seville to malaga with hertz. i know its prorochial, but I am comfortable knowing the firm, being able to work with them stateside if there is a problem, etc. The costs were all laid out on the hertz website. we rented from the trainstation in seville and dropped at the airport in malaga.

One way retals are easy peasy in Andalucia. Malaga airport is normally very busy and sometimes the queue for picking up a car is long depending on who you rent with. There is no mileage in renting from the city unless you are staying in Malaga itself. Dropping off at Santa Justa station is fine as it is at the end of Avendia de Kansas city and most people can navigate the ring road around Seville before hitting Kansas City.
