car rental in Italy
Does anyone know anything about ArgusRentals for renting a car? They are the first ones to actually have a car for the time and place I am looking for, but I'd like to be sure if there's anything I need to know before booking. I know everyone recommends autoeurope, but I haven't been able to get a car through them. Thanks for your help.

OK, I have checked out many car rental places, including those suggested above. The one with the best price, and I think insurance protection as well, is EasyTerra. Any experience with them? Another one that I'm considering is InItalyOnline. We need the car from May 19-21, pick up in Chiusi, drop off at Pisa airport. The 3 day rate is cheaper than the 2 day rate everywhere I checked, which works out well since I can play around with the times better. Thanks for your input.

Hi nw,
In Italy, all cars come with CDW. It is required.
The differences are in the amount of the deductible.
AutoEurope, Kemwel and Gemut usually have a 3 day minimum.
This is the first time I have heard of EasyTerra. This is not to say that it is not a find.
You do know that you have to have an International Driver's Permit in Italy?
Have a nice trip.

An IDP is not usually required by the rental agency to rent a car, It is however required by the Italian authorities to operate the rental car in Italy, unless you are from the EU. If you are in the US just pop into a AAA office, give them $15 and get one. The only people that really care if you have an IDP are the Italian police.
