car rental agency near train station in Firenze
We are renting a car at Pisa airport , spending a few days in Tuscany and then driving to Firenze where we will take the train to Venezia.
Which car rental agencies are located near the train station in Firenze?
We're looking for the quickest way to drop off a rental car in Firenze to get to the train station to go to Venezia. We won't be sightseeing in Firenze so we want to avoid congested roads.
Is taking the train from Firenza the fastest way to get to Venezia from Toscana?

Yes, the train is the fastest way. Almost all the rental agencies have a branch in Borgo Ognissanti, five or ten minutes walking from the station. The place is notoriously difficult to reach - about half of the addresses are in a zone watched by a ZTL camera, so you must be sure to follow a specified itinerary and then ask the agency to notify city authorities that you entered the zone to access a garage and pay a small fee - or you will get a fine after six months. The other half of Borgo Ognissanti can be reached freely but, again, you must know the exact itinerary and stick to it, or you will unwillingly enter the ZTL (and in this case you cannot even ask the agency to notify the authorities).

You can certainly drive to the Hertz office without having to worry about being in the wrong zone if you are careful. Done it twice without any problems at all..but perhaps the cameras were all turned off that day.

Check your other thread. Dropping the car elsewhere might make more sense. Even driving from your last Tuscany destination to Venice might take less time overall than going north to Florence, risking a ZTL violation ticket, getting to the train station and riding the train.
