Car Hire -- Santorini, Paxos, Naxos
Need feedback on whether we should rent a car on any of the 3 islands we are visiting in June. We have about 3-4 nights on each island. We love to explore and usually always rents cars when traveling in Europe and elsewhere. What rental companies would you recommend? Thanks for your feedback.

A car will give you the most flexibility and the be the best use of your time. For Santorini I always recommend Vazeos in Oia, Tony's in Firostefani, Spiridakos in Fira and at the ferry port, and Motor Inn in Kamari Beach. Be sure to go to your local AAA office to pick up an International Driving Permit, no test or membership required. You can have the car delivered to you or you can arrange a pick-up at the airport or ferry port, depending you how you're arriving.

For Naxos, I was pleased with Fun Cars.
For Santorini, my experience with Spiradakos was a nightmare. For a description, see post # 5 of this thread:

For sure if you do Google searches on PAXOS you will get lots of results, so be clear which island you mean when you do your research. There are lots of places in Greece with similar or even identical names, which can be misleading for the unwary. Even the guidebooks get it wrong sometimes.

Sorry -- quick typing -- meant Paros. Any recommendations for car rental in Paros, please. We are there 4 nights, how many days would make sense to have a car? Can you take a rental on the ferry from Paros to Antiparos? Would you recommend?

How many days for a rental depends on how much you want to move around at your own pace for a reasonable amount of money. Yes, you can take your rental on the small ferry from the secondary port of Pounta, which is on the west end of the island near the Paros airport. https://tinyurl.com/y6y4mrg5

Nice link of Pounta, brotherleelove! In summer the Pounta - Antiparos ferry runs every 30 minutes from 7am until well after midnight. With a car you can explore the southern end of Antiparos, which has several remote beaches, the stalactite cave, and Agios Georgios, the little settlement where you can catch a boat to the archeological site on uninhabited Despotiko. That end of the island has many beautiful villas, but few hotels or tavernas. Captain Pipinos, the well known fish taverna in Agios Georgios, would be a good place for lunch.
If you can, stick around Antiparos Town for the evening when all the shops, cafes, restaurants and bars will be open. During the day when everyone is at the beaches the town is quiet, with most of the shops closed for siesta 2-6pm.
