Capris OK for the Vatican?

Our second trip to Italy is coming up the end of May and I really don't want to wear as many long pants as I did the first time. (Boy, does it get hot!) Anyway, will I be OK wearing capri type pants that cover the knee but not the complete shin area for the Vatican and other churchs? I didn't pay attention to what others where wearing on the first trip.... to much to take in to care!!

I'm not really familiar with what Capri pants actually are, but as long as your knees and shoulders are covered, and you're not flashing too much cleavage, you'll be fine.

Is the 6 inches of lower leg that is exposed when you wear capri pants really enough to make you cooler? How about a skirt? That seems even cooler yet given that parameter.

A broomstick, cotton or other summer skirt would be much cooler and more appropriate.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am more of a pants gal, but will try some skirts to see if I can stand it.

I'm a fashion doofus, but are there some kinds of pants called gauchos or something like that? Like skorts only down below your knees?
