Capri or Amalfi
I can't decided which place to stay on the 2nd week of my honeymoon. I've been checking out the hotels on both. My two favorites from Amalfi are Santa Caterina and the Palazzo Sasso. But I also like the Caesar Augustus and the Grand Hotel Quisisana. Any suggestions would be great!
Thanks in advance!

I really don't have a preference. I just want to stay somewhere luxurious and romantic. So is it better to stay in Positano or Capri? We are a young couple and would like some sort of nightlife but it isn't that important. I'm sure after running around in rome and venice, we jsut want to relax and enjoy the rest of our honeymoon.

Capri is beautiful. No question.
Positano is too. No question.
Having said that I would stay in Sorrento. It's a real town with shops and restaurants and very easy to get around: Pompeii, Positano, Capri, etc.
In Sorrento what you spend is what you want to spend. All ranges.
If your budget allows it I would be tempted to stay in Sorrento and take overnight trips to Capri and Positano(so you can be there after the daytrippers leave). I haven't done this but am tempted next time we are in the area.
Others may dispute but I think Capri and Positano might get a bit boring after a day or so.
I don't know if you've ever been to Italy or these areas but don't concern yourself with 'after running around' in Rome and Venice.
The pace can be whatever you want it to be. Your style of travel will determine what you do and how. You can wander Rome for several days and not feel like you've been trampled by a crowd.
Have fun and enjoy yourself.

I also vote for Sorrento with perhaps a night (or two?) on Capri. Lots more to do and see, easier to get around, more restaurants and still great views and romance. Pop for a room with a view of the sea, Naples and Mt. Vesuvius.

Hi Bumblebea -
My husband and I honeymooned in Italy for 3 weeks this past September. We spent our last 5 nights on the Amalfi Coast in Positano and then Capri. I can't speak to the hotels you've mentioned but below are a couple of observations of mine
We loved the fact we could relax on the beach in Positano with a good book after spending time in the cities seeing the sights. We don't care for much nightlife - we had some lovely dinners and kept to ourselves. There's no need to get bored in Positano - you could always go for day trips to Ravello, Pompeii (not the easiest to get to if your are taking public transit), etc.
Capri was wonderful - we stayed at the Hotel Luna. Away from the hordes it felt like Capri was so serene. The grounds were wonderful - we spent our days lounging by the pool and at the beach club down at the Faraglioni. Again, nights we strolled the streets and ate some great meals.
We loved that we could relax and recharge before returning to our respective jobs. The great thing about Capri and Positano was that we walked everywhere - no taxis!
Just my opinion - congratulations and enjoy your honeymoon!
