I picked a different route on the Burgundy canal because I felt that it had more "old stones" nearby than other canals.

the pictures between the two maps represent what we saw on the canal trip.

We have done a cruise on the Saone, starting from Pontailler-sur-Saone, but we went north instead of south. When are you going, what company are you renting through, and for how long? We need more information if we are to help you.

BTW you posted another thread that has confused folks. You would get more help if you confined yourself to a single thread (this one) and responded to our queries here.
