Sure, I've packed a rental car into my 22" suitcase before. I even had some leftover space available.

I packed a rental car into a 22" ziplock bag, but I did not have enough room for my shoes.

Sure you can pack a rental car in your 22" suitcase, but it will be over the British Air carryon weight limit.

British Airways ask you to remove the antenna, and switch off the radio, as it interferes with their navigation instruments.

Glad that PakLite posted this thread. I can't believe that the original is still alive. Note that it is mostly women who carry the suitcase story.

Yes. In fact, if you get a SmartCar it will do double duty as both a conveyance and a carry-on---they fit nicely in the overhead bins on most U.S. carriers.

I plan to pack a rental car in my 22" but I am going to put it in ziploc bags to be safe.
