Can someone help me find cheap airline tickets FROM London to the U.S.?

Hello all,

I'm used to getting friends and family cheap airfare from the U.S. to Europe, but a friend of mine, who is from England, has asked me to help find her sister's family cheap airfare from London to America. Most of my standby sites, Hotwire and Orbitz, etc., won't even give me quotes on airfare orginating from outside the U.S. Can someone from the UK give me some advice? Thanks in advance for your help!

Duane

You could start by trying Airline Network, Travelbag or Trailfinders. It just depends who has offers on at the time. I don't know if they will take a booking from the US though.

Could also look at Opodo or even Expedia (.co.uk rather than .com).

I bought tickets LHR-Detroit for 289gbp return for late June flights returning early July from Flights.com. But then I bought them months ago.

Try going to Netscape.co.uk and looking at their travel category. They list about 150 travel agents/flight brokers.
Most of the serious cheapie deals are to Orlando or Las Vegas.

Sign up for BA's e-mail notices; they send me some SERIOUS deals, especially in the off-season. You can specify the country of origin that you wish to know about.

The other thing you might try are the operators specializing in Ireland, such as O'Connors-Fairways out of Chicago.
Most of their deals can go in either direction; the Irish living in the US seem to arrange a lot of family visits. The flights usually go through JFK or Logan to London.

I would recommend expedia.co.uk or britishairways.com. Depending upon the destination in the US, I have found that airfares from London to the US are usually cheaper than US to London.

Hey Duane,

Trailfinders is my favorite London agency - I use them for booking all my flights. Their transatlantic department sometimes has better deals than bucket shops....have your bud give 'em a call for a quote.

HTH!
