I really have to watch my intake of caffeine, but I REALLY love good, strong coffee (say what you want about Starbucks, but thank God for my decaf quad-shot grande Americano!). I've read that you can order decaf (is it deca or decafeine?), but will it be an unusual request? My French is not good enough to handle a more complete explanation.

Go to a Starbuck's, there are several in Paris, and then you are sure to get your decaf. But I know that friends have ordered decaf at Le Dôme and La Coupole.

I believe 'Nescafe" used to at least be the name for decaf in France. I could be wrong. But with Starbucks on virtually every corner you won't have a problem.

I've only ordered decaf a couple times in regular restaurants in Paris at night. The results were horrible. Do you remember the original Sanka? Same taste.

You'll find "decaf" in any parisian cafe (and no, it won't be Nescafe but real cofee), just ask for "Un déca"

Usually, deux decafé , as my Lady Wife drinks it, too.

I don't think the waitstaff cares if you say un or une, as long as you hold up the requisite number of fingers.

EVERY café in Paris serves decaf. It is a "déca" (Deh-ka).
