Can i bring my own bottle of wine up Eiffel Tower?

I understand there are restaraunts and a champaigne bar on the various levels of the tower, but am i allowed to bring my own bottle and enjoy a glass on one of the terraces?

is there a security checkpoint where they would be looking for glass bottels etc?

thanks for your help!

The ET is not the best place to enjoy a glass of wine with the thousands of people walking around, looking at the view, and trying to get the best place to stand. Make sure it's white wine so when you're jostled it won't stain your clothes.

No, you are not allowed to bring bottles, cans, or drinks:

And as adrienne says, it's hardly a venue for a leisurely glass of wine "on the terrace." More like wandering around a sports stadium trying to keep people from knocking into your drink.

It's not a "terrace" it's a platform with mobs of people swirling in all directions - trying to get the best views and find other members of their party. Even if it were allowed it really wouldn;t be possible.

If you want a drink there go to the bar.

The parc du Champ de Mars surrounds the Eiffel tower and is lovely. there are benches where one could have wine and a snack. We have always thought the view was better from the area of the park than from the tower itself. I am not sure that it is really permitted to have alcohol there, but many people do discreetly imbibe. The park is very long and the view is beer further back in the park and there are a lot of nice secluded benches to watch the twinkling lights on the hour.

Our family picknicked out on the grass on the Champ de Mars with no problems, including wine. Great memory.
