CALLING EXPERTS for train schedule question FRANCE
We will travel from Paris to Avignon with our adult children. On June 20th for their return we will take them to catch train for 4:00pm flight from CDG, we will in turn pick up our friends at Avignon train station for their week with us in Provence, also arriving from Paris. What time should we put the kids on the train for this 4:00 departure, getting taxi to airport from train station, and help our friends with schedule to make this transition work. Thanks, as for the last three years you have helped me figure it all out and I appreciate it. These are first timers for France and I want their train journey to be fun and not stressful.

Thanks Dukey, I was wondering if that was a possibility to go directly. I suppose it is just too early to make those reservations, from all I have read you cannot book until 60 days in advance. That time is perfect, thanks again.

According to
http://www.voyages-sncf.com
There are two trains on June 20 for
AVIGNON TGV - AEROPORT CDG 2 TGV
#5144 07h47-10h59
#9860 09h16-12h29
This is not a difficult site to look up schedules.
Buying tickets is another matter.

OK....I consider myself to be a fisherman......I can navigate my way around to most all travel but this TGV site is driving me nuts. The date is for June 20th, maybe that is the problem, I put the information in for Avignon to CGD, it redirects me to the french site. I got the 9 train up at one point but only because I put in only a month out, and it was in french....you guys have a clue as to what I am doing wrong....Don't remember this much trouble last year....HELP...maybe I should just give it a rest, have a glass of wine and watch Obama and Hillary duke it out.

I printed tickets out a few days ago for a train trip on May 7 Paris-Nice. I used freetranslation.com when I couldn't figure out what they were telling me on the french sncf site. Voyage-SNCF sends you an email when the transaction is successful and you have to then fill out specific information (name/birthday) before you print out tickets.
Also make sure you call your credit card company and tell them you are making an overseas purchase. When I tried to purchase tickets the first time my credit card was rejected and my card company called me. Once I okayed purchase the transaction went through.
