Calling Europe - 10-10-297

Has anyone had an experience using www.1010297.com (VarTec)Rates to Western Europe .03/min + .39 connection fee. Sounds to good to be true! On their web site you can check to see if service is available in your area.

Haven't checked this out, but this reminds me of a question I've wanted to ask --

when I call a cell phone number in France (i.e. 33 6 etc.), the rate is more than 30c a minute on my ATT plan.

What're the cheaper ways to do this?

Thanks.

The cheapest mobile phone alternative service I have been able to find is 1016868...7.9 cents to UK land lines and only 13 cents a minute to mobiles. They charge 20 cents a minute to mobiles in most other European countries.

Something around 35 cents a minute is norm for calls from US to European mobiles.

I use 1016868 and it's very inexpensive. There's no set fee like the 39 cents, but it's only about 7 cents a minute to many European countries. I guess depending on how long a phone call you were going to make, 1010297 might be cheaper.

I've always had a good experience with http://www.10-10phonerates.com/ which compares all the low rate services. These plans/rates are notorious for changing, and the 10-10 number you used last week may not be at the same rate this week, so it pays to check.

Thanks. As usual someone here knows the answer. I'll have to give it a try.

Now, a friend gave me a phone card that I never investigated. Might phone cards be competitive?

I have used 10 10 987 many times to call France and it is 3 cents per minute and a 39 cent connection fee. It is a seperate item on my phone bill and there were no other charges.

I also have a phone card called the ?"Crusher?" and it charges 1.9 cents a minute with a 49 cent connection fee. I use this sometimes when I know I will be talking for a long time. The thing I do not like about this card is that they charge you 49 cents if someone answers the phone or not.

Here ia web site that can answer some of your questions on these 10 10 numbers and comparison of rates. http://10-10phonerates.com/
