Calling all itinerary experts...Geneva to Paris or Geneva to Barcelona??

We were scheduled to meet two other couples and ski in Switzerland & France in March. Unfortunately one person had back surgery (is walking, but not allowed to ski) and another is pregnant so we need to change our plans. We start in Geneva on 3/2 and fly out of Geneva on 3/10. What would be the best itinerary? We're thinking of renting a car and leisurely driving to one destination and then taking the train back to catch our flight out. We all enjoy good food/wine, museums, etc. Any ideas? Thanks!

Worthy of your consideration - - you can FLY cheaply on www.easyjet.com fom Geneva to Barcelona.

I would rent a French car (you can do this at Geneva airport, since it's right on the border), then meander my way to Perpignan and turn it in. This will leave you an easy train ride to Barcelona, where you wouldn't have to have a car anyway. then you can fly back.

Or you could do something like this in reverse.

It's the best use of time and money, in my opinion.

Best wishes,

Rex
I agree with Rex regarding car rental and Easyjet.

However, I wouldn't drive all the way to Perpignan/Barcelona.

Rather, explore the Provence and/or the Cote d'Azur and fly back to Geneva from Nice (also served by Easyjet). There's certainly more than enough good food/wine and cultural attractions to keep you busy for a week.

Hope this helps
Andre
