I live about 20 miles Northwest of Chicago, & would like to participate, but alas, I have 2 kids on 2 different travel hockey teams, so time is very, very limited for me right now. Will be in Peoria for the weekend of the 11th, & the weekend of the 18th, there are 4 games plus practices, but if there is a future get together, in Schaumburg, I would be interested in that.

I've taken all the responses and created a database with names and email addresses (NO, I will not share them with anyone!). To make this a little easier to manage, I'm going to send out eInvitations to everyone that responded. Just respond to that invitation and the system will do all the tracking. You can also post comments, so feel free to do that as well.

I'm really looking forward to this. I hope it's just the first of many gatherings for this group of midwestern travel junkies!

I would say that of course spouses or significant others are more than welcome to come if they would like. The more the merrier.

Dear s.fowler/ Beth and all: Cafe Iberico is somewhere I've always wanted to go- and although I don't add much to European forum I would sure like to meet the great travelers on this board. My life is 10 lbs. of flour in a 5 lbs. bag- but if you have a Jan. get together could you let me know? I'm going to Italy in March and would love to meet some adventurous Chicagoans.
Quite a commute for me to get downtown but I would do it. Western suburbs might be a good suggestion / mid-point for group as a whole. Maybe Richard can think of somewhere in Oakbrook or Lagrange that might be nice for next time. Just a thought. Regardless, hope you all have a great time.

Put me down as a tentative for the 18th so I can get on your database. I am in the midst of college visits with my oldest so I still don't know what the weekend of the 18th will bring. I am going to try and make it and definitely want to make the'event" in January. I think that the idea of around Oakbrook area is a great idea as it is an easy on and off from the tri state.I live up in the northwest suburbs but if I can help-let me know. Also, could we decide a date before Dec.16th as I bid my work trips a month at a time-thanks!!! DebbieI also think that a stickon nametag with our first name and email address might be helpful to put a person with a name?
