Calling all Burgundy experts!
So I am narrowing down our choices for the 4 days we will spend in Burgundy in 2 weeks (YEAH)! My 2 friends and I will be traveling from Chambrey on Monday and staying at the Hotel de Vougeot in Vougeot, between Beaune and Dijon, for 3 nights. Our tentative ideas are these and I'm looking for imput from the experts on Fodor's and open to other possibilities.
Monday...
Stop in Tournus on the way and in this area visit Chateau Cormatin and perhaps a stop in Brancion. Arrive at the Hotel early evening.
Tuesday:
Head out to Semur en Auxois and spend the day around this area visiting Abbaye de Fontenay, Chateau Bussy-Rabutin. AND/OR visit Beaune
Wednesday:
Head out to Vezelay and the surrounding countryside. AND/OR visit Beaune.
Thursday:
Drive into Dijon, drop off rental car and spend day exploring this city. Catching the 4:30 TGV to Paris.
We enjoy a glass of wine and good food, but enjoy culture and history more. I do realize that this area holds so much more than the time we can afford to give it.
I have the Michelin Green Guide and ordered Michelin map 320. Also, I'm printing the routes out using the ViaMichelin web site. Since I'm the organizer of this adventure I try to be as prepared as possible.

I think we saw about every chateau in Burgundy & Beaujolais last year - or at least it seemed that way. We found both Tanlay & Ancy le Franc to be MUCH more interesting than Bussy-Rabutin.
Also, I think Semur en Auxois is an A- when viewed from the outside, and a C on the inside, while Noyers is a B- from the outside and a B from the inside.
