SORRY:

I am travelling at the start of May.

If a ferry is not possible, then are there any other suggestions to travel from Cadiz to Malaga instead of RENFE or bus?
Thanks

Cadiz to Malaga is best by bus, particularly if you can get an express. I used ferries this summer to go between Spain and Morocco and did not see any that went from one Spanish port to another. Also, the Strait is not particularly interesting. . . certainly no Panama Canal.

There are no ferries between Cadiz and Malaga because the jouney is much easier by road. If you want an interesting boat trip, there are dolphin- and whale-watching trips from several places including Tarifa (www.turmares.com).
