caddy tipping at st andrews
Can anyone give input on the proper amount to tip a caddy at St. Andrews and the other courses in Scotland? Somewhere we read that you should ask the caddy master how much to tip the caddy and then you should tip the caddy master for telling you. This seems a bit over the top but having never been, we want to be proper and fair but don't want to feel like our pockets have been picked.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Hi T,
Asking the caddy master is the best idea, but tipping him for the answer is totally ridiculous.
I played St. Andrews and other Scotland courses years ago as I forgot what we tipped. The amount also depends on how much you enjoyed his company and the job that he did. Have a great trip.
