Côte d’Azur September
Going back to the Côte d’Azur this month hopefully. Have stayed in Nice and Juan les Pin.
considering Antibes or perhaps Villefrance sur mer. Any thoughts? Place in Antibes I am looking at is close to the train station while the place in Villefrance is up the hill with a great view. Might look at other parts of the Cote too.

Will you have a car? In Antibes, the place to the train station is convenient for train trips but is about 1/2 mile from the start of the old town. There are services there but many people like the places in and around the old town.
How far up the hill is the place in Villefranche? Check the proximity to the bus line and just how far up --- walking that far down and up for every meal and every connection to the train station can be tiring (noted there are markets and restos further up the hill). Note traffic on the cornice can be high -- watch for noise.

Am in Nice now staying for a week in a high rise apartment on the Promenade des Anglais. Has been cloudy with a little rain for the last 2 days. Drove the upper and middle Corniches, visited Eze, Menton, St Paul de Vence and Vence. Supposed to be a lot of rain tomorrow but hopefully not like the above picture. Fortunately had excellent weather in St Remy last week.

You should visit Villa Euphrussi in Beaulieu-sur-mer/St Jean Cap Ferrat. Be careful of pickpockets on the Promenade. Watch for dudes on bicycles. They carry batons to smack open knapsacks and handbags.

If you are in Antibes check this out. We really enjoyed this rocky walk with gorgeous views.
Lunch at Keller Plage was excellent and you can start the walk at the end of Garoupe Beach.

We were in Nice for two weeks and Villefranche was for the cruise ships. Our favorite places for day trips were Cap Ferrat with Villa Ephrusdi and Villa Kerylos, and Beaulieu and Antibes. They far surpassed the other available choices.

One of the larger cruise ship lines no longer stops in VSM, which has reduced traffic in recent years. And then, with COVID, the traffic is well down. The number is now picking up and they are looking forward to 2022, according to the local news. To me, Beaulieu-sur-mer is a somewhat unspecial place on the CdA, other than the oddity of the Villa Kerylos.
