Buying Rail Tickets: What Am I Doing Wrong?

Trying to buy two tickets from Zurich to Chur for 4 July 2018. The SBB site keeps defaulting to the 3rd of July for some reason.

I know I am now within the 30-day period and cannot figure this out. I could wait until we get to Zurich on the 1st and buy them then I suppose; cannot remember if any discounts would be available by buying them now but simply wanted to have them in-hand.

Suggestions appreciated.

Hi Dukey1,

I just tried it, and had no problem. Maybe it was a temporary IT glitch? Can you try it again?

Good luck & have fun as you plan!

Hmmm. I've got nothing... except the usual: clear cookies, clear history, try another computer, try another isp....

Really hope you get it figured out!

Yeah, I also had my date pushed back from July 4 to July 3 when I tried (after using the calendar to select the date). But this was fixed by using the > (right) arrow to advance the date to July 4. From there, I got a train selection and could proceed to purchase one - but I didn't go any further than that.

Have you forgotten set select a time?

If you don't, it defaults to the current time. Then you might be looking at evening on the 3rd, then morning on the 4th. I've known people do that!

Thanks, everyone. I had to do what Andrew did, use the arrow to advance the date in the date box and that worked. I did get the option for Supersaver tickets further on so it was definitely worth buying these in advance.

I appreciate everyone's help and for taking the time to offer it.

Unless you are going for a discount (and there aren't many advance purchase discounts for Swiss rail tickets) there is no need to purchase in advance. Think of them like you would subway or bus tickets.

TWK, please read my last post above. We got a major discount by riding in 2nd and choosing Supersaver tickets which I printed out at home.
