Buying a prems ticket on-line
I'm trying to buy a Prems Ticket on-line for the trip from Karlsruhe to Paris. On the SNCF site, a €29 ticket is listed as available, but none of the three payment options seems to allow me to print the ticket at home. Two of the options require me to collect the ticket (as paid for on-line) at 'a selected SNCF railway station', of which Karlsruhe HBF does not appear to be one, although it does now have TGV service. The other option will post the ticket to an address in Metropolitan France, which is of little use to someone living in Australia! I have read many posts that indicate that people living outside France have been able to print tickets via their computer, and then present the print-out and the relevant credit card to the conductor on the train. I can certainly do this via the German DB site, but cannot find the home-printing option on the SNCF site. Any advice would be most appreciated.

2 years ago, I had the same problem. I'm not sure if there are any significant changes to the site since that time, but you cannot print if you have chosen the cancellation insurance.
If that's the case, then delete that option and you should be able to print.
Hopefully, that will work.

Hi adeb,
Your 29E fare is not a PREM'S it is a MINI.
That might be your problem.
See if your fare is still available from

Thanks, folks. Ira, that difference in tagging might indeed be the problem, though I have no idea why it should be! I have trialled the DB site over several days at the 90 day threshold, and it has always informed me that the €29 ticket is no longer available. I assume therefore that the SNCF site has many more €29 tickets to sell than does the DB site. I can buy easily on-line from the DB site IF only a ticket was available.

Hi adeb,
>I have trialled the DB site over several days at the 90 day threshold, and it has always informed me that the €29 ticket is no longer available.<
That happened to me on our last trip.
I gave up and bought the full fare ticket about 20 days out.
The stinkers made the cheap ticket available about 7 days out.

paule - i bought my Prems tickets 2 days ago on voyages-sncf.com, with the insurance option and it still allowed me the option of printing at home. I can choose to print the ticket immediately (a pdf doc) or print at a later date...
