I will be in Britain most of November. I will stay in London, Bath, and Oxford. I have looked at guide books, The Man in Seat 61, and several forums and I can’t figure out the best way to go. For me best is moderate in price, few changes and ease of use for someone who uses a cane. I don’t need to arrive at any certain time.

I need to go London to Bath. Bath to Oxford and , Oxford to
London. Leaving London I will be staying in Westminster. When I return to London I’ll be in Kensington.

I’m not sure why I’m having trouble figuring this out. I swear I’ve traveled solo all over the world, but I’ve a mental block about this.

Not quite sure what your dilemna is -- All three cities are well connected by train (Oxford is also well connected to London by express coaches)

Where in Westminster? the borough of Westminster is enormous and covers a vast portion of central/west-central London. Or do you mean the actual neighborhood of Westminster (generally nearish the Abbey/Parliament)

If it was me and dealing with a cane and (hopefully) a small rollaboard suitcase. I'd use trains between the three cities and cabs or buses to travel to and from the train stations. I have been to London using a cane and managing the tube with the stick and suitcase is next to impossible.

oh. . . . and you will save a fair amount of £ if your train travel is outside peak hours (generally the morning commute up until about 09:30)

Janisj thank you for the pep talk. Train was my first instinct but I got sidetracked by the choices.
I’m staying at the Premiere Hub by Westminster Abbey.
So I should buy advance tickets now, right?

Depending on the dates -- you can't yet buy tickets for November. Today bookings are only available out through Nov 15. The first cheap Paddington > Oxford train (after peak travel) is at 09:20 and will cost less than £6.

The Hub is in Tothill Street (I stayed just next door last month) and depending on traffic a taxi to Paddington will cost maybe £15-£20-ish
