I am planning to be in Positano soon, also.
There is a metro-type train from Naples Station to Sorrento. Then a bus from Sorrento to Positano.

Also, there are car companies in Positano who can pick you up at the Naples train station. With big bags, this is my choice.

Hello Dorothy,

There's no direct bus from Naples, -though there is one from Rome (-early morning departure).
The most hassle-free route is by ferry from Salerno, ( - there was a thread on this last week, if you do a search). Very scenic!

Steve

Hi

As stated before the you change trains in Naples for the one to Sorrento. It is very easy to do and at the Sorrento train station there are buses right there that go to Positano. A group of 8 of us over 50 did this without any problems.
