Bus from Nafplio to Athens Airport to catch flight to Santorini at 12:20.
We're planning on taking the K-Tel bus from Nafplio to Athens then the metro on to the airport to catch a 12:20 flight. I know that the buses leave Nafplio early in the morning for Athens and that the bus ride is about 2 and a half hours so I don't foresee any problem as long as we get a bus from Nafplio by 8:00am. Is there anything I'm not considering with this, i.e. traffic?

I understand that the buses leave as early as 6:00am. Maybe that's the time we would have to leave to get to the airport on time for our flight. Think we would have better luck that way?

Is there often a problem with bus schedules or delays? I'm wondering if we would be better to rent a car and leave when we need to although we will have the same problem with traffic. Any thoughts? I'm already booked at Hotel Leto for the night and already booked the flight to Santorini.

My first choice would be to stay at a hotel in Athens for the last night.
Failing that, the early bus sounds better than a later one if you absolutely have to get your flight.
I wouldn't suggest hiring a car to get back to the airport. We actually got stuck in traffic doing the drive from Tolo (7 km from Nafplio). It took us over 5 hours to get to the airport.
