Burlington hotel (Dublin) to close?

Hello, I was told that the Burlington Hotei in Dublin would be closing and torn down. Is this true?

It's going to be "re-developed" - which basically means torn down.

Sorry to hear that. We enjoyed our stay there with our family when touring Dublin. It also had easy access to the bus route. Thank you for the info, lawchick.

Its mad but I think it re-opened. Not surpriosed as the Jurys ballsbridge with the other attached hotels had to re- open as they could not get permission to develop to post high rise apartments yet. They are probably hanging in to wait until the property market picks up again. http://www.burlingtonhotel.ie/ website is up and running!

Thank you, Padraig, for the link to the Burlington hotel development plan set for 2009. I guess we won't stay there on our next trip!!!

You might. The wheels on development projects like that turn slowly.
