Burgled the night before leaving!!

Hi all,
Thanks for the sympathies and whatnot! We leave tomorrow morning and I always book a house/dog sitter. With the news of the burglary, I was afraid that she would be too intimidated to stay. Our house is big enough that it freaks her out anyway. Her only question was "Can my boyfriend stay?"
Heck yeah! Flash, the snoring dog, adores her and him so we are all set.
Flash is an australian shepherd who is very protective and not happy with strangers. When I told her what had happened, she said that he may have had help sleeping! Apparently, they have been drugging the dogs and/or gassing the houses to encourage the occupants to sleep around here. The good news is that Slovenia is one of the safest places in Europe and violent crime is very low. So, rarely is anyone attacked. Whew!
