I noticed on a map of Barcelona that they have a bullring. Has anybody seen or know if they perform bullfights in Barcelona. Circumstances prevented me from going to one while I was in Madrid & Sevilla, and I really want to witness one in person. There are two bullrings; the one you want is La Monumental; season runs from April-Oct., with corridas every Sunday afternoon. <BR>Cuidado con las astas!

Hi <BR> <BR>When we were in B last week we saw the bullring which you might have spotted on a map, there is a beautiful building in Place Espanya at the foot of Montjuic. However this is no longer used for fights. <BR> <BR>I was told by someone that Catalan people are not as fond of the bull fight as other regions of Spain but that they are still held, just not in that bull ring. <BR> <BR>Go and see it anyway, it is a lovely building and stands at a crossroads with a lovely mix of architecture... <BR> <BR>Kavey

Could have purchased a ticket for Sun, May 7 to see "El Juli" (Spain's 17 yr.old wonderboy matador heartthrob-the L. De Caprio of bullfighting). Saw a diagram of the Plaza Monumental, could have selected a particular "tendido" (1-11) in either the "sol" or "sombra" and could have bought (supposedly, but didn't attempt it) the best seat in the plaza, a tendido 11, sombra, front row for 84 euros.
