Budapest Hotels -- Help us decide ;)
We've stayed at the Erszebet before. Pretty boring although comfortable and well located. We are considering something a little less expensive this time. What experience have fodor-ites had with either the Hotel Alba or Hotel Victoria, both in Buda? Or any other hotels liek those in more or less central Pest? Thanks!

If you are interested in staying at a home, I recommend Dr. Walter Fleps, English-speaking retired attorney. His address is Bogar utca 20b, 1022 Budapest, Hungary. Phone number is 36-1-326-8170. For $40/night for 2, you get bedroom & bathroom to yourself & huge breakfast. He has typed itineraries & an interesting story. The bedroom has a terrace which overlooks the city. You take a bus to metro & 3 stops, you're downtown. Hope this isn't too late.

Thanks for your response, but we've already decided on the Hotel Victoria. We will also be 6 people and a central location is important to us. I'll keep your suggestion in mind for when it's just the 2 of us
And I'll report on Hotel Victoria when we return!
