Budapest castle

I have just returned from a holiday in Budapest. I am still in love with the castle area and Matyas church. Anybody else find the castle area (and the whole city in general) to be so beautiful?

The palace is also very impressive.

I was in Budapest for a week in May and had a great time. Budapest is such a beautiful city, food was great, prices cheap and people very friendly. I was not so terribly impressed with Matyas church but I thought the interior of St. Stephens catedral was fabulous. I was so impressed with it that I attended Sunday mass there and enjoyed it very much. I am going back to Budapest next summer.

Must be something in the water there as all the women looked so pretty. Wish I had gone to Budapest when I was much younger.

We stayed in the castle district at the Burg Hotel right on the main square for three days in June. Heavenly ! Only went down to Pest one afternoon, and we heaved a great sigh of relief to be 'back home' when we returned.

I totally agree with you on Budapest, we were there in March and it was a beautiful city.

The people were amazing and everyone went out of their way to help us around. And where as in most cities the 'tourist attractions' are just there for the tourists. In Budapest many of the historic sites were 'functioning' buildings, which made it even more impressive.

We loved our first visit in May. Stayed in Buda at the Hotel Victoria. It was wonderful to wake up each morning and see the Parliament Buildings and Chain Bridge out our huge picture window.

Everyone went out of their way to treat us well. Enjoyed visiting Aquincum, Szentendre and our two trips on the Danube. Also the fabulous view from the dome of St. Stephen's.

There was much we had planned to do and see, but time didn't allow. Hope we will be fortunate to return some day.
