brussels or budapest?

Hi! I am going to Europe this summer and will be traveling all over. For the first month I will be visiting switzerland, italy and austria. From there my friend and I plan to travel for a few weeks. We have narrowed it down to one of either two options. We will be meeting up in Vienna Austria and then from there we have 2 options:

1) Vienna, Budapest, Prague, Munich, Amsterdam then London

OR

2) Vienna, Prague, Munich, Brussels, Amsterdam, then London.

We cannot decide weather Budapest or Brussels will be more worth the visit. I have heard some good things about both and not sure which direction to go. We are 2 college aged girls who will be traveling alone. We want to experience some culture in these places as well as places that are safe and fun. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Mercure Duna nice place to stay by personal experience
overlooking castle close to Danube
more exotic better culture if youstay in good areas.
Brussels ok just more of a big city expensive.

Happy Travels!

Mercure Budapest Duna is located on the bank of river Danube in the city center with a picturesque view to the Castle. Cultural experience is provided in the nearby.

Hi. Brussels is a bit of a disappoitment unless you are willing to go to Bruge or Antwerp.

Budapest is an easy place to go around and has more to offer young people. Not as beautiful as Prague but a lot frendlier and extremely affordable. If you need a place to stay in, we rented this condo that is absolutely devine. is local traffic only and a garden that separates a row of restaurants and quaint pubs. Very trendy area.

Another "definitely Budapest". Two college girls will love it. Along with London & Amsterdam - the "top 3" on your list, IMO.

No Paris?????

Prefer Budapest. I've been to Brussels three times and it rained and rained. But the food is great and those chocolates!

sorry, bestof - my vote goes to Budapest.

a bit like the eurovision song contest, you can't vote for yourself.

so it looks like Brussels gets "nul points"

But you did mention Vienna, Prague, Amsterdam along with Budapest. You will enjoy all and much in between. So it isn't a matter of which is better betw. two cities...and besides how about the villages in between?

Easily Budapest. I was disappointed by Brussels, aside from some Art Nouveau buildings, and just returned from my third visit to Budapest. See http://mytimetotravel.wordpress.com/...g-in-budapest/ for my TR with pix.

sounds like loads of fun! my vote is also for Budapest. sounds corny but the Red Bus tour is a good way to get an overview of the city. the transit system is very good, and they actually have one of the oldest metros in Europe!
I strongly suggest an evening at one of the mineral water spas.. I went to the Kiraly last year and loved it!
If you're looking for a good party try Gentse Fest! it's a 10 day party in the city of Ghent(Belgium)July 14-23. beautiful city, music and beer, and about a bazillion people!
