Brussels Nightlife / Bars/ Restaurants

There are 18 ladies visiting Brussels aged between 30 - 40 years for one night ( saturday in June ) We all like fine wine, good food and a dance at the end of a night. Can anyone recommend funky bars/clubs and good eating establishments please in Brussels.
We are staying near the Grand Place.

If you want trad Belgian mussels and frites, Aux Armes de Bruxelles is the way to go (although other posters have had issues with service). Chez Leon across the street is also good. Avoid the other tourist traps on the Rue des Bouchers, however. 'T Kelderke right on the Place is supposed to be good although I've never eaten there. These are rather low-key however.

For something a tad nicer I've heard good things about wine bar Jaloa (jaloa.com), and Lola, in the Sablon area, is fun.

For going out, I don't usually go out in that area but have heard that friends liked Dali's Bar.

Sure... I'd also recommend looking at some Brussels guidebooks at any bookstore. The Grand Place has tons of restaurants, and most of the restos in Belgium are really quite good. If you can find a Michelin guide that covers Belgium, it will have many more listings. Also, you might consider going to the Place St-Gery area for your bars and dancing, it is a little more on the youthful side but a very happening area. Good shopping around there too, if you have time.

Funky bars/clubs - don't really exist that much in Brussels.

For kind of cool eating try the belga queen www.belgaqueen.be and they have a cocktail bar downstairs and the food is pretty good too.

The clubs here are quite techno and some can be a bit "young". Have a look at

This place has been recommended by BTilke who used to reside in Brussels. She mentioned dancing on the tables etc. http://www.worldsbestbars.com/public...ntVenueId=1410
