I'm organising a group weekend outing to Bruges (in April) for some fellow members of an online community of photography nuts (myself included) and would appreciate some restaurant advice.
I have been to Bruges before a couple of years ago (also a GTG for a group of online friends) but I just can't remember the details of where we ate.
I'm looking for restaurant ideas that fit the following criteria:
A)
wide ranging dinner menu
not too expensive
able to cater for a group which will be between 16 and 20 adults
centrally located
preferably with a website or at least an email contact but that's not essential
B)
lighter options for lunch for same size group
less expensive again

There are a gazillion restaurants in Bruges, so I'm sure you'll get tons of suggestions. But whenever we're in town, we tend to gravitate to Smedenstraat, a non touristy street on the other side of t'Zand (once you cross t'Zand, the ratio of tourists to locals seems to shift significantly).
Two restaurants we like there include
Passeviet
Bonheur
They are both moderately priced, relaxed places with good service and good food. Only Passeviet has a web site (www.passeviet.com). Note: it only shows a partial menu on the web site. The "real" menu is much more extensive, but changes often to match with seasonal cuisine. They have a private dining room that can accommodate up to 25 people.

Do a search on www.resto.be and see what takes your fancy.

In many Belgian Restaurants they have a separate dining room which you could book for yourselves.

Also ask the restaurant if they have a fixed menu - which may proved cheaper and more efficient for so many people.

Thanks very much - will definitely check that site out. That said, would definitely prefer some personal recommendations as it's always more reassuring to hear from a regular fellow traveller than rely on the restaurant's own write up!
