Brother Cadfael's SHREWSBURY

I'm making a literary pilgrimage to Shrewsbury, in Shropshire near Wales, familiar to fans of the historical mysteries of Ellis Peters. (Derek Jacobi on the PBS Series.)

If anybody's been there, can you recommend one of these inns over the other for convenience and comfort?: The Lion and the Prince Rupert Hotel. I won't have a car.
Thanks,
Logan

The Prince Rupert is probably marginally better. However, the Lion is very old and is famous as a coaching inn and the building is bery nice. In terms of location there is little in it. I have stayed in both and so when taking a room (not a suite) I would recommend the Prince Rupert. I think the suite's at the Prince Rupert are pretty nice - the Spice Girls stayed there when they came to Shrewsbury. The Lion is slightly cheaper though.
