We based in Questembert and managed to see almost all of Brittany. We stayed at a wonderful hotel that has a first class restaurant. Questembert itself is a lovely small town

chateaudebouceel.com abmc.gov/cemeteries/cemeteries/br.php Great place to stay. Very near many sights. Another American cemetery [Saint James] that not many Americans visit. Plus, great host. Perhaps a bit more than three hours to Ambroise. Richard

We've spent 2 weeks in the Dinan area, 2 weeks in the "Pink Rocks" region near near Treguier, and 1 week near Pont Aven. I think the best area for a first timer is the Dinan region. However, don't try to see all of Brittany in just 2-3 days - just stay east of St Brieuc & west of St Malo.
We stay in Gites, so I don't have any B&B or hotel recommendations.
