This is not a joke at all! I had great traditional British food in England the 2 times that I have been there. Has anyone had something called "summer puddding"? Its a delicious dessert of cake or bread that is filled with summer berries. Its so light and refreshing! Another specialty is sticky pudding and Devonshire cream. Both to die for!

There is a pub near Harrod's that has the most unbeleivable Chicken potpie ! I go there every time in London. Sorry I cannot remember the name.<BR>I love the ale form York, there is no other like it.

15 years since I lived in UK but I visit regularly and I belive, the general quality of food pubs/resturant has improved. Why ..the Brits travel more the TV is FULL of food programs. But the prices are high ! On value for money these is still progress to be made!

Can curry be classed as a British dish? Good question. The obvious answer would be no, but as it is now the most popular food in Britain (having overtaken fish and chips and roast dinners) perhaps it's fair. Also many dishes you'll see in curry houses in Britain where invented here - Chicken Tikka Masalaand Baltis come from Birmingham, for instance.<BR><BR>Whatever, we love 'em.
