Britain Warmest Year on Record!

Just heard that Britain has its warmest year on record last year.

Q - is this a trend and what kind of attire should I pack with the new weather scenario. Should I plan on a swimming holiday in the Lake District - go to Scotland to escape the intense heat of Kent, etc.

How will warmer weather change visiting to Britain?

I guess the pubs with pub gardens will do a land office business - should I plan for more pub time and less fatiguing walking?

Please - I leave for London in 2017 - advise needed!

It's had it's wettest April to July on record this year. Pack a snorkel.

It's global weirding, not global warming.

You now need to pack for all climates, wherever you go, whenever you go. Snorkels will be needed for crossing most roads about half the year, but they'll be arid deserts the other half.

And no-one will be able to predict which months get which climate. 2011 might have been the warmest year on record - though claims like this are based on a very narrow definition of "record", so it means "warmest year for a century". But five days before the year started we had the coldest night ever recorded.

Pack the latest fashions. But first wait for those fashions to come out in '16. Better hurry up and book those flights.

More pub time is always a good plan, whatever the weather.

Rick Steves tells us not to carry the snorkel all around England, but to rent it when you need it....

exactly what climate change and NOT global warming predicts - big extremes in weather - hot and cold but overall a little hotter progressively.

with the change in the Gulf Stream Britain could return to the Ice Age some think, being so far north yet the rest of the globe as a whole warms up.

winners and losers.
