Oh my god, this is the idea that you americans have about Europe ?
Where do you live ?
We «discover» America, we invented TP.
Maybe theres a special TP to american turists...just to tease you and your cultural background...
This is the strangest question about Europe ( or Italy in this case) that I read in a long time...
What's next ? Showing your passaport at the Vaticano?

Sorry, Antonio, the Europeans didn't discover America. People lived in America long before the Europeans arrived.

Good one, xxx! I always get a kick out of the "discovering America" bit. And it reminds me of the saying "History is written by the winners."

Fazzoletto, at the rate things are going with airline security, we soon may not be *able* to pack anything to bring to Europe. :~)

Although my question was real, I am certainly not "worried" or "preoccupied" with the TP issue. Just thought I might lighten up the forum and get some fun replies. Thanks everybody. Is it true that feminine items are sold only without the applicator in Italy?

"Hakle is best" has never been to Turkey. I was there in May and I brought 3 rolls and took 2.5 back and that was only because a few times we ran out in the room and it was more convenient to use ours than track down a maid. The worst paper I found was in France, and that was a bit rough but not so bad. I agree to carry tissue packs for public washrooms with no paper. But the tissue packs are available at any corner store or flea market in Turkey. I am pretty sure it would be the same in Italy (10 years since I ahve been there, I bet they ahve ATMS now too!)

So, as long as we're getting down to basics, what about the bidet thing sitting there next to the toilet? It's probably meant for more than rinsing underware, right? Explanation of intended use would be helpful.

Unbelievable. three posts removed from this thread in less than an hour. They really DO monitor for certain content they consider unacceptable.

Comments about personal hygiene crosses a line when it refers to menstruation, but not defecation.

And there will be NO tolerance for references to ovulation!

Hmmm, this gives me a seminal thought...
Bidets are wonderful! I wish I had one in my house. It's like mini shower upside down. If you get the chance, try it out!

Didn't we once get into a lengthy elaborate discussion on bidets ??? Roberta, if the "monitors" haven't eliminated it from archives, that thread probably still exists somewhere deep, down in the bowels of this forum.
